Students who only complete some units will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment for units successfully completed.

Training and Assessment Information
Delivery is through face to face, onsite training in a supervised workplace. Learners are also required to undertake self-paced learning.
Our Cert 3 Civil Construction in Melbourne is delivered through on-site assessment where our assessors come and visit you on your job site. Some units of competency require written theory
assessments as well. You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required. You will know in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is opportunity for reassessment and appeal, which can be found in the Student Handbook.
Student Support
Resource Requirements
All students will require the following Personal protective equipment (PPE):
- Protective eyewear: Clear safety glasses, (tinted or sunglasses not acceptable). These must conform to the Australian Standard AS 1336 or 1337.
- Protective footwear – Safety Toe, Leather Upper, and non-slip safety footwear must be worn. They must comply with AS2210 and be in good condition.
- Protective clothing – Sleeved, 100% cotton work wear or employer supplied uniform must be worn always.
Course Credit
You can apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in our Student Handbook, which is available at www.avt.com.au.
What Are the Entry Requirements?
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Participate in a pre-training review to determine suitability for the course and student needs.
Pathways
Potential employment options are as skilled operators in civil construction in a range of construction industry areas.
Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into the RII40720 Certificate IV in Civil Construction or CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction qualifications, as well as higher education qualifications in the Construction Industry.

If your application is successful, we’ll send you a student handbook and the pre-training review form. You should make sure you read through this document carefully to ensure you are happy with all of the terms and conditions. If you are, then simply sign the document and send it back to us.
Once we receive this, we will send you the enrolment and an invoice for the first payment.
The first day of each course will include orientation and induction. Orientation will include information about the course structure, accessing our support services and methods for achieving success throughout the course, including course progress requirements.
