Course Description
This nationally recognised unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to undertake Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) induction training within the construction industry. It requires the ability to demonstrate personal awareness of OHS legislative requirements and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry. The course will enable participants to apply a systematic approach to their work with training in:
- Identifying health and safety legislative requirements in construction work
- Identifying construction hazards and applying risk control measures
- Identifying health and safety communication and reporting procedures
- Identifying incident and emergency response procedures
- Working knowledge of the OH&S and regulatory requirements.
